Tracy Newby was born on Sphinx and like many of those born there, he was born with certain genetic modifications (Meyerdahl genetic profile) and is a third generation prolong recipient. He was very active in various clubs and organizations in his younger years and among them was the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) where he learned about archaic weapons and armor use from firearms and swords to kevlar body armor and chainmail. Enlisting in the Royal Manticoran Navy, rather than the SFS, he set out to find adventure and knowledge beyond what was available to him on Sphinx. Finding a good place to use his knowledge of weapons and tactics he gravitated towards the starship tactical disciplines and became a fire Fire Controlman on board a light cruiser. After his first year of training and workup he was transferred to HMS Medusa where his talents were put to great use in engagements with the forces of the People’s Republic of Haven. A chance opportunity came along and Tracy found himself being transferred to the Bureau of Personnel as a Command Senior Master Chief Petty Officer in the Office of the 5th Space Lord where his dedication and hard work earned him the Navy Star. When the Deputy 5th Space Lord retired, he was tapped by the 5th Space Lord to replace the Chief of Staff, who was taking on the role of Deputy 5th Space Lord and was promoted to the rank of Captain JG. Later that same year, due to his dedication and hard work Tracy was promoted to Captain of the List. When the 5th Space Lord chose to retire not long afterwards, he became the Deputy 5th Space Lord and promoted to Commodore as the Deputy had chosen to take over as the 5th Space Lord. Commodore Sir Tracy Newby, KDE, MC, NS, CBM, will always consider HMS Medusa to be his home, regardless of where he is billited and can often be seen playing cards with the senior officers and enlisted personnel on board. Rumor has it that he has even been seen, on occasion, drinking in the company of the ship’s Marines. |
